Brighton Hall Student Film Celebrated at Festival

Brighton Hall students continue to make waves in the entertainment industry. Last week, the school celebrated as the short film created by students Aaniyah Marwah and Zachary Westerman premiered at the prestigious LA Shorts Film Festival.

The screening, which took place before a live audience, was a thrilling experience for everyone involved. Zachary was on hand to soak in the excitement and palpable energy of the event. “It was an absolute dream come true,” he shared. “Seeing our hard work on the big screen and the audience’s reaction was incredible.”

Unfortunately, Aaniyah was unable to attend due to her busy schedule preparing for her upcoming freshman year at UCLA. Despite her absence, her contributions to the film were celebrated by all.

Following the screening, Zachary participated in a Q&A session where he discussed the filmmaking process and the collaborative partnership he shared with Aaniyah. He emphasized how much they learned from each other throughout the project.

Brighton Hall was well-represented at the event with Principal Angie Peiris, several faculty members, current students, and even proud alumni in attendance. The school has a rich history of nurturing young talent, and this screening was just another testament to its commitment to fostering creativity and providing students with opportunities to explore their passions.

“We are incredibly proud of Aaniyah and Zachary,” said Principal Peiris. “Their film is a shining example of the talent and dedication that our students bring to everything they do. Brighton Hall is more than just a school; it’s a launchpad for young people to pursue their dreams.”

Brighton Hall has a long-standing reputation for producing talented individuals who go on to achieve great success in the entertainment industry. Many of the school’s alumni have won awards at various film festivals and have gone on to star in major motion pictures and television shows.

The LA Shorts Film Festival itself has a remarkable track record of discovering and launching the careers of renowned filmmakers. Being selected to screen at this prestigious event is a significant accomplishment for any filmmaker, let alone high school students.

Brighton Hall is excited to see what the future holds for Aaniyah, Zachary, and all of its talented students.
